If the new maintainer of a well-established, reliable, bug-free module, makes changes that are

  1. unnecessary;
  2. go against both its design philospophy and purpose;
  3. introduce dependancies upon other modules that same author has already ruined.

Note: I don't want to discuss the specifics of any particular module here, I'm just wondering what options are open to me.
