Hello Perlmonks,

I have a script which process windows registry. For example calling a function:
process_key_r16a_type ($partition,$mountpoint,"software","Microsoft\\W +indows NT\\CurrentVersion\\Terminal Server\\Install\\Software\\Micros +oft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\RunOnceEx");

I know, the code should be max 78 columns width, it is no problem. The problem such long parameters (key names, file names etc).

My script has more then 300 lines (from 3000 total) with length more then 200 characters.

There are a few options how to decrease width of the code: or leave long lines "as is" for readability!

What is your coding practice in such situations?

Thanks

P.S. actually perltidy do the second variant (split by parameters).

In reply to need advice: Perl code layout, long line lengths by resistance
