Thanks for the info but I have to ask, is there a particular reason this forum has become some incredibly hostile and combative since I last visited it a couple years back?

Normally I wouldn't mind but my question about approach hasn't been answered due to up front assumptions, backed by hostility which has dragged the discussion from a strategic realm into a tactical one which from the previous post was already shown a dead path.

In regards to the final retorical questions - the resulting equations is used by a C program to determine errors in a 4th GL language. This program works on smaller examples and the results are compressed and placed in Excel.

Anyway, I'm going the database route. I've had enough negativity to last the rest of the year.
