Hi Monks,

I've only been studying Perl for a few months and it's going well but now find that I'm going to be away from a computer for a week. I will have plenty of reading time though. I'm looking for ideas on how to keep studying Perl. Yeah, I know it's only a week and if I were a true geek I'd read some science fiction novel. I'd rather use the time productively if possible.

Some ideas that I'm thinking about:

  • Do brute memorization. If I knew what to memorize I probably wouldn't need to memorize it.
  • Buy the Camel book and start reading. I've glanced through this before and it seems like it might work to learn some core concepts better than I need or can comprehend right now.
  • I'm not a programmer so I was also thinking about getting a basic programming logic book. Which one? One that's a bit on the lighter side would be preferable.
  • Any other ideas?

    Thanks
