The mantra of DBIx::Class seems to be "I hate SQL and want to avoid it at all costs", so there is no entry for arbitrary SQL in the FAQ. But I found Arbitrary SQL Through A Custom ResultSource in DBIx::Class::Manual::Cookbook, and I guess that's the way you have to go.
