I'm needing to write something similar to prove which summarizes a number of executed tests.

I have a number of perl scripts which output to STDOUT which I would like to capture in total (but still output to STDOUT...). The three alternatives I have thought of are:

• Pipe the output of the scripts to a filter which does its thing, but passes output to STDOUT. This works with one script, but I would like to serially execute all scripts & capture all output.
• I could send all output to a file, and process it after everything completes, but this means that output to STDOUT is delayed to the end. I would prefer seeing incremental processing.
• I could play with file handles. This seems to be the most flexible solution, but I would appreciate any insights on how I can capture STDOUT output from the scripts within another Perl script, but still send output to STDOUT.
