I think tomorrow will be the very first Perl Monks quest. I will choose a topic or task for you to all partake in give you a day or two and then award XP bonuses for people who create nodes within that theme. XP bonuses from 1-10 points will be given based on the quality of the nodes you contribute.

Also I've decided to be a whole lot more fierce with the editing of stuff within Categorized Questions and Answers. Answers need to work or they're gone. I know I've been guilty of adding a few answers that have been slightly foobar'd. Also that is not the place for specific questions. That area is supposed to be our own ever-growing perlfaq. So make the questions general and applicable to a large number of people. Also make the titles descriptive. Help me with the code . need help ASAP is not a descriptive title. People should be able to go into a category like network programming and know which questions would be helpful to them before they follow the link. If you need help ASAP go to Seekers of Perl Wisdom. If there are questions that are misplaced or fall into one of the categories listed let me know in Editor Requests

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post, it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Posts are HTML formatted. Put <p> </p> tags around your paragraphs. Put <code> </code> tags around your code and data!
  • Titles consisting of a single word are discouraged, and in most cases are disallowed outright.
  • Read Where should I post X? if you're not absolutely sure you're posting in the right place.
  • Please read these before you post! —
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags:
    a, abbr, b, big, blockquote, br, caption, center, col, colgroup, dd, del, details, div, dl, dt, em, font, h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6, hr, i, ins, li, ol, p, pre, readmore, small, span, spoiler, strike, strong, sub, summary, sup, table, tbody, td, tfoot, th, thead, tr, tt, u, ul, wbr
  • You may need to use entities for some characters, as follows. (Exception: Within code tags, you can put the characters literally.)
            For:     Use:
    & &amp;
    < &lt;
    > &gt;
    [ &#91;
    ] &#93;
  • Link using PerlMonks shortcuts! What shortcuts can I use for linking?
  • See Writeup Formatting Tips and other pages linked from there for more info.
