Hello.

I want to store threaded discussions. The frontend is on the Web. Instead of badly reinventing the backend with a relational database, I thought I would use a local NNTP server. For accessing NNTP, I found on CPAN: News-NNTP | newslib | libnet | NNTPClient | ponfish

Have I overlooked something? Has someone already made a comparison between those modules? My requirements are not clear. It looks like I just need the simplest thing that can possibly work: messages (with subjects) arranged in threads.

If no comparison exists, perhaps someone has already used merely one of them: from your experiences, are there modules not worth looking at? Or can you recommend a specific one?

In case you think that the whole NNTP is not a good idea at all, say something else.
