Thanks, I didn't know that site. There's some really useful information there.

I think I'll not be able to get a temporary password to login to FTP using LDAP. As I understand, that would require storing a password on the AIX server then letting the LDAP do the validation.

If I can't find a C program that does it, I guess I'm left with coding the IBM algorithm in Perl:
