I wasn't really posting to get the extra point.
That post didn't get me the point anyway.

I was really wondering that because I've only recently
started to try and contribute when I can instead of
sitting on the sidelines. I also don't feel that my skill
level is on par with the other friars. It was a vote that actually gave me the point.

I decided that I wasn't going to vote today.
I started reading something interesting and voted out of instinct on a couple of things
and got the final point.
I really did mean to let some time go by so that I could do something useful for the last point.
