Again, we cannot help you with your data analysis. If you have programmed your loading with SQL Loader and shell scripting, you should have a rough idea of what the Perl program needs to do. Perl will likely never beat SQL Loader for speed of data loading, but it might be faster for preparing the data than your shell script is.
For querying the data, it still depends on your hardware, your network, the queries and the amount of data and calculations that need to be done. We cannot help you there.
