Hello All,
Please forgive me up front for asking but I do not know the answer to this.

I have written a couple of perl scripts that automates collecting of data. I have tested this sucessfully on my Fedora 11 machine with Perl 5.10, however the scripts do not work on 5.9 or below because of missing modules. My questions is, is there a way that I can distribute perl 5.10 with my scripts in a single tar file? So if I were to install perl 5.10 into a totally seperate area in my Fedora environment, say /apps/perl, can I tar up /apps/perl and my scripts and then take this tar file and extract it say to /tmp/perl, on Linux, HP, Solaris, AIX, etc, have my scripts reference #!/temp/perl as the first line and all be well? Or does each flavor of UX need it own different version of perl for its specific OS?
