I wrote a simple script for encoding a string in md5It is strange to say that the MD5 algorithm can be used as a form of encoding. MD5 is a one-way hashing function, with no simple way of decoding the result. In essence it can only be used as a digest.

A program should be light and agile, its subroutines connected like a string of pearls. The spirit and intent of the program should be retained throughout. There should be neither too little or too much, neither needless loops nor useless variables, neither lack of structure nor overwhelming rigidity." - The Tao of Programming, 4.1 - Geoffrey James
