Hi,

You don't exactly give us a lot of information here, I use DD-WRT (other open source router software available) on my WRT54GL, Perl is available to install on this platform via Optware.

Perhaps if you be more specific about the platform you have to work with, and what you are trying to do we may be able to provide more advice.
