The constant xlFillDefault should not be string. Try using this: 
use Win32::OLE::Const 'Microsoft Excel';

...

$excel -> Selection -> AutoFill({Destination => $targrange, Type => xl
+FillDefault});

Constants are numeric, in fact xlFillDefault equals to zero.
