Interesting idea! But not necessarily one that anyone will put on the front burner, as many other pots are already bubblin ^H^H^H^H^H^H^ in danger of boiling dry.

OTOH, if you volunteering to help, you should get a login, and /msg the gods with your offer to assist.

Actually, the willingness of the Reverend Brothers & Sisters to provide an "assist" to the many who pose questions here is a major reason the site is such a resource.

And that's another reason why I would not favor the idea. Sure, we have our lurkers and annonymonks who mostly read and rarely offer an idea; an answer; or a noteworthy observation, but that's not the spirit of the place, nor one that helps keep it "worth reading."

So, even if you're not offering to work on a project, register anyway (and start collecting XP. Offer open only on planets with a vowel in their names. Not valid where prohibited by law). You'll be warmly welcomed.

Update: BTW, it was painfully slow posting this, despite major improvements over the past year.
