Just curious really:
Why does Perl fire off a C shell for such business as globbing, backticks, system(), etc.? I would think a Bourne shell would be more portable. Since I use korn, bourne, and BASH, I confess ignorance about C shell.

Useless trivia probably, but the monastery always surprises me.
