Hi, thanks for the reply, but i already tried glob. <IF $test eq glob(dump*txt)>. But still the comparision doesnt happen. the array where i store the required value i.e. <@array = $test> inside the IF statement, doesnt give me the reqd result but it goes through all the files in the directory and stores the last file value in the array
