So I am getting this error in relation to the zlib module on win32 not sure why here is the line in the module that the error refers to

my $package = 'Compress::Zlib::';
     File::Package->load_package('Compress::Zlib') unless(defined %$pa
+ckage);
     $self->{gz_package} = defined %$package;

Here is the error:

can't use string ("Compress::Zlib::") as a HASH ref while "strict refs
+" in use at Gzip.pm
