I am attempting to simulate command line history within Perl. By that, I don't mean that I want to interact with the actual system command line. Instead, users can type in commands into my script via stdin, and I want them to be able to hit the up or down arrow keys to retrieve previous commands they have entered and possibly modify them before entering them again.

Does anyone know of a way for me to do this, or a package that lets me do this? Saving off the old input is easy enough, but handling the up and down arrows and putting the old input back into STDIN is what I have not been able to solve. I've looked at the Term::Readline::* modules, but none of them seem to do this part of the task.
