Hello monks,

I have couple of questions on regular expressions and they are as follows:

Q . 1)

The given String was like as follows:

example 1 :"MACHINE_CLASS=9000/800/L3000-5x"

example 2 :"MACHINE_CLASS=ia64 hp server rx2600"

REGEX : my ($machine_class) = ($row =~ /MACHINE_CLASS=\s*(\w*)/);

But when I tried to print $machine_class then I got"9000" and "ia64" respectively for the above two examples.How to get the whole string?

Q . 2)

Another question is I have the following string

Example String : "64 bit kernel 64 bit user ***** AIX"

I wanted to fetch whatever string appearing in the place of **** which keeps on changing for different instances. How to achieve that using REGEX?

If anybody knows the answer then Kindly tell me how to g o about it ?

Thanks in advance !!!
