What's the goal of the regex, validation, finding a match or extracting data from a line?

For extraction, the following should do: 

/\b((?:CDC|DDCSMR|DDCRMR)\w*)/

For matching, it simplifies to 

/\b(?:CDC|DDCSMR|DDCRMR)/

[download]
