Well, I use it fairly regularly, and I definatly find it worthwhile.
But I think it may come down to what you are actually hoping to accomplish.

If you are looking to create some perl programs to make available to
everyone, sourceforge would be a good place, as they offer
forums, bug tracking, cvs access, and various other goodies, including
loads of bandwidth.

However, if you're mainly looking for some place to try out perl code
on the Net, you might want to look into PerlMonk.org,
a site set up by jcwren for perlmonks users where you can go and
pound away at perl code. Sourceforge requires that you have
a project in mind that you want to release, the Perlmonk site will
let you experiment as much as you want.

If you do desire to use sourceforge, they use CVS to collaborate
on projects, so make sure you read up on that.. OTOH, if you ask real
nice, jcwren might set that up for you too :-)

Update: Got brave enough to try putting brackets around a person's name, to link to their home node. By golly, it really does work as advertised ;-)
