I have an array of objects that I want to sort thus:
@Objs = sort { $b->{'num'} <=> $a->{'num'} } @Objs;
"Num" is either 1 or 2, but 95%+ 1. The list contains about a thousand items.
@Objs was coming out exactly the same way it was going in. I added some output into the block (showing the values for the $a and $b nums) and comparisons were being done. In exasperation, I finally tried this:
my @Sorted = sort { $b->{'num'} <=> $a->{'num'} } @Objs;
@Sorted is sorted! But if I use the @Objs for the return value, it isn't. This is not the behaviour I generally expect. Anyone have any idea why?
If you doubt the integrity of my data, want to see more real source, etc, please see my reply below. For posterity: This was never resolved.
