The latest FUD I nearly succumbed to was a comic on some development forum. It went like this:

A guru was asked by a grasshopper, "which is better, Perl or Python?"

The guru responded: well Perl is faster..... At which point the grasshopper said "Ok then, so I should use Perl"

The guru responded, well maybe, but 6 months from now, when you come back to look at the code, Python makes it easier to remember what the code did. :-)
