The threads threads have been quite valuable to me. I had long ago dismissed threads in Perl as dangerous nonsense precisely because there is a semi-pervasive attitude around and about that intimates that without always coming out with it. I will be trying to use them the next time it seems appropriate, probably with some stock quote streaming stuff I've been messing with, and I would not have considered it without your messages and copious sample code.

(Sidebar: I know the personal angles in the arguments are easy to fall into but they aren't much fun to read.)
