Hello,
I am writing a multithreaded perl script. I am looking for the following
1. Main thread/process has to create a pre determined set of threads. Say 5 child threads
--Can I create n no of threads in a forloop?
2. Main process constantly queries the database and picks u a piece of work and look for a ready child thread to pick it up and assign it to thread if it is available or wait for a ready thread.
-How I can access the child threads from the Main thread?
- How I can find wheather a thread is done its work? and ready to pick other work
3. Continue the process until all work is done and detach all child threads.
Would someone give me an outline how I can accomplish this in Perl?
Thanks in advance
-Jim
