After you assemble the file name, you should check to see if it exists.

+ fine for windows too.

# Existance verified - now we can "put" it

A few more pointers:

• Do the file existance check BEFORE opening the FTP, so you can bail out earlier in case of error
• Your calls to "logit" would look a lot less clunky if logit did it's own timestamping.
