To amplify somewhat on CountZero's reply: the Monks can be rather short with people who come here and seem to be holding their hand out for code but don't show any effort at writing the code themselves. On the other hand, if people turn up with some sample code they are having trouble with they are likely to receive copious help, and often that help will be in the form of many lines of code.

The more effort supplicants demonstrate in researching, refining and presenting their question the more help they are likely to receive.
