Hi Brethern,
I have just re-installed windows XP (a few weeks back) and the latest Activestate Perl 5.12.2
When I run Hello World: 
#!/usr/bin/perl
print("hello world \n");

[download]
I Get: 
D:\dev\test>hi.pl
Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
(C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.

D:\dev\test>

[download]
It seems to have launched a new command shell. Its exactly the same as I get if I type 'cmd'...
Any ideas brethern? AVG reports no visrus...
