Flash goes way out of it's way to prevent direct downloading of flash content. The closest I've seen is using Gtk2::WebKit Webkit allows you to make you own browser
See my meager attempt to grab Flash content at Another YouTube Video Downloader using GtkWebkit ( IIRC, there is no native 64 bit Flash app, so you need 32 bit compatibility libraries if running 64 bit)
