Did I imagine it, or does it exist somewhere?
I asked "Is there a module available for doing this?". Answers include: 'yes' or 'no'
I thought I remembered seeing a 128-bit integer library, but when I went looking for it, I couldn't find it. So I asked if anyone knew of it.
The interesting thing is that if someone knows of such a module then you would like to know more information than you asked for -- i.e. the name and how to get your hands on it. But when someone responds in way you do not like, you slam them for providing more information than you asked for. See the contradiction?

I saw ambrus's post as divided into three parts. The first was obvious curiosity. The second was more like rambling/talking out loud to oneself, so still about curiosity. The last part mentioned various modules and seemed to support the conclusion that there is nothing worth looking at out there (your "no" answer).

Maybe your interpretation is correct, but what do you gain by responding in such a negative way? Especially when your interpretation is wrong? That's why I used the snake analogy. Seems like you always go the negative route, assuming the worst, always the one trying to pick a fight.

Also, this is a public forum. No one here is paid to answer your question. Many of us like to hang out and kick back a bit. So it's perfectly fine to ask something like "Hey, I'm curious, what do you plan on doing with this? It sounds interesting!" I actually checked this thread out because you usually ask interesting questions, and this one would be even more interesting if you had included what you were trying to do with it (even if it is doing it for the sake of doing it). Curiosity is a good trait at a site geared towards learning.

Again, my take on ambrus' post is imo pretty much pure curiosity. Or if you will, since you did not mention why you wanted to do it, we were left with a puzzle or a mystery to solve, and he was running through some of the possibilities, and discarding some for reasons given -- like I said, as if he was talking through his thought process out loud.

Update: Made some significant changes, such as bringing the blockquotes in, etc. General sentiment is the same.
