at some time, Python had better luck - it noticed and popularized better, and it became popularized a POV that python is more modern compared to perl.

I think this is due to pure luck
Objectively, python is no better: programming python is like using "no strict" everywhere, it has inconvenient syntax for regex, and many more.

but the true is - python is indeed popularized better...
