So the question is: what should I feed them?Good question, but you're asking the wrong crowd. Don't ask us, ask them. Ask them what they are needing Perl for, what the knowledge is they lack, and how they typically write programs. Note that it's perfectly fine to write "Cish Perl". Or "PHPish Perl". Your coworkers have problems to solve, they don't need to drink the Perl koolaid.
