I noticed yesterday on best nodes of the year a good post by dextius you'll want to read: Interfacing Perl with C++, using XS, with external files, and using the STL as parameters and return values. Read the comments too. There's something called XS++ associated with the Perl Wxwindows bindings project that sounds quite promising.
