Right... thanks for putting this into perspective - the complexity (and the reason why it isn't implemented) becomes apparent.

By the way I was involved in making the $@ "fix" for 5.14 a little less troublesome. Here is a writeup, and here is the "fix of fix" that ended up shipping in 5.14
