Hello, Many thanks for the suggestion. I tried but cannot get the module to run. Am a total newbie to Perl. Programmed in C and basic for the past 20 years and decided to learn a new script I download the module run perl makefile and get messages which don't do much. Is there a tutorial where I can learn how to use the Cpan modules. Sorry to bother you guys this way. Many thanks, gimley
