It would certainly be appropriate for those of us who really benefit from this site to support it financially.

However, I have a helpful suggestion. When the site says "Donations gladly accepted' it does not tell me whether Perl Monks is a charity, a not-for-profit noncharity, or a privately owned asset.

It would make a difference to one planning a contribution to know. For instance, I buy Mandrake. But even if I got it for free on the web I would never respond to Mandrake's request for donations, because it is a private company doing an IPO, for X's sake.

I doubt that Vroom has an IPO up his sleeve, but it would be useful to know just what one might be contributing to if one makes a contribution.
