Sheesh, you perl guys go out of your way to make things difficult, and suggest complicated solutions to questions that weren't asked. The guy wants the equivalent to java's vector.indexOf("value"). grep is apparently it, although it would be nice if there was something even cleaner (as in, more readable) than that. Charles.
