Hi Monks, I was working on a project earlier tonight and noticed something strange. Whenever I refreshed the webpage that my script generates, a Windows command prompt (cmd.exe) would quickly flash on the screen and then disappear. I was able to recreate the issue with this simple script:
#!C:\strawberry\perl\bin\perl.exe
use strict;
use warnings;
use JSON;
use LWP::Simple;
use CGI;
my $q = CGI->new;
print $q->header,
$q->start_html,
$q->p("hi"),
$q->end_html;
If I comment out the use LWP::Simple line, the CMD prompt no longer flashes. Does anyone have any ideas what causes this behavior? (By the way, this is on a Windows 7 64-bit machine. The web server is Apache and was bundled with xampp)
