Learn to filter out which posts merit a reply, and which are best avoided. I offer this advice for all forums, not just this one.
I think that this is excellent advice. Don't argue with "Anonymous Monk" because you are going up against possibly multiple posters who don't have the guts to post under their own user accounts - ignore this trash.
Sounds like the OP is an EE graduate working on a MS CS. There is a whole bunch of stuff that the OP would not have learned, but will have to learn. It is ok for us to help him learn.
The "death here" is to not study and pay attention to what the Monks have said. Otherwise any question and follow-up question is "fair game".
Some Anon posts are genuinely helpful (and I think that the vast majority are in this category). But you are just "taking the bait" if you reply to a hostile Anonymous post with another in kind.
