Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but the warning in your screenshot comes from:

            my $newcard = pop(@cards[$i]) . " of " . $types[$i];

I'm not sure that is supposed to work (no idea how pop handles array slices), but you meant pop(@{$cards[$i]})
