"$! is defined to contain only a meaningful value... Since your code succeeds, the value of $! is meaningless."
Thanks so much. I had thought functions would only set $! if there were some level of error. I suppose a function may do what it pleases... This flaw in my logic was causing me to create false failures when checking eval(functions). You have forever improved my style by exposing otherwise rampant ignorance, thanks.
"Kudos on the amusing node title. And your coding style did not cause me to pull a face."
lol. Thanks.
As for your face, I take that as a significant compliment. I am new to programming, and my own code pulls my face occasionally. Always learning, always improving. This seems to be paying off gradually.
"That said, I made some minor "improvements" based on my personal taste... Note the minor differences and make up your own mind. In particular, note the use of sprintf so that the dates and times are formatted more uniformly and thus sort correctly."
I really dig the changes. I pretty much did a rewrite, throwing it into my Utilities.pm, I did use most of your changes in it. Thank you very much for the feedback. Uniform date/time formatting: how novel.
