You just have to install your module. There is a list of paths that perl search when it tries to load a module, and it must be one of them.
You can write a Build.PL file (using Module::Build) or a Makefile.PL (using Module::Install), and then call cpan . inside your module's root directory to have CPAN.pm install it for you.
