Update: I don't know why my readmore tags didn't work for the code portions.
They did 'work' -- if you look at Seekers of Perl Wisdom you'll see -- that they just didn't do what you (or I) intuitively want them to do, when looking at the node directly.
That is the way readmores are designed to work, which is why I find spoilers more useful.
