jfroebe has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi,

I've found CPAN modules for rcs, cvs and the like but not for sccs surprisingly. Searching on use perl, perl mongers, google, etc. hasn't provided any information about anyone actually writing a wrapper package for it. The reason for this is, my guess, that sccs is not included in any of the distributions for bsd, linux (gnu/linux), etc. However, it is included on many of the commecial unix systems.

There was an earlier question regarding sccs a while ago with someone mentioning that the module was in cpan they believed.

Does anyone know if such a module was ever written and released?

There is a generic VCS module on CPAN that might do what you need.
thanks! It looks like I'm going to be writing a sccs module for VCS::. Well, it will be my first CPAN attempt. :-)

Never got around to do that? I did now. VCS::SCCS. Enjoy!
