Esteemed monks,
I'd love to read PerlMonks on my Palm using AvantGo, but I feel the HTML interface of PM is not exactly the most navigable stuff on an old generation Palm m515 where memory is at premium.

On Everything2, there is an unformatted "summary" page at http://www.everything2.com/index.pl?node_id=1059927 that is a perfect starting point, because I just tell AvantGo to download that page and all that's underneath it for a maximum of 150k.

Is there anything like this on PerlMonks, any tool available tio build it remotely (XML-RPC?) or any experience in using AvantGo with this site?

    Perlmonks is available in XML. Perlmonks is available in NNTP (ie news). There is always Plucker by hacker. Good day :)

      I know you can have the XML version of a page, but when I download the XML version of a page, I lose all the comments on the page (that are usually the most interesting part of a question). Is there any way to have a - say - simplified HTML version of PM?

      BTW, I didn't know Plucker at all, but looks great and it's free. I'll definitely give it a shot.

    There's 3 questions here:
    1. Does it exist?
    No not really as far as i know.
    2. Is there a need?
    Yes there is. More and more people use cellphones, palms and pocket pc's to access perlmonks (i know i do on a Nokia 6600)
    3. How can i make it myself?
    Well with a little xml + xslt you could make a html version just the way you like it. I have a sidebar for mozilla that uses the newest nodes xml generator and an xslt file to be rendered by the browser. It might inspire you. Here's the link: Perlmonks.org Mozilla Sidebar.
