More and more hosts require ssh versus telnet. It's much more secure. You can accomplish everything you could via telnet with ssh. Sounds like you are on Windows. If so, i highly recommend Putty. It's a free program will let you telnet or ssh into your box. Download putty and see if it will let you in. Putty Rocks
