strat has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hello,

I want to replace the following working mod_rewrite-Rule by a PerlTransHandler

RewriteEngine on RewriteRule /overview/(.*) /xyz/?action=overview;$1 RewriteRule /one/([0-9]+)/(.*) /xyz/?action=one;id=$1;$2 RewriteRule /two/([0-9]+)/(.*) /xyz/?action=two;id=$1;$2 RewriteRule /download/(.+)/(.*) /xyz/?action=download;file=$1;$2
I came up with the following code:
package TransHandler; use warnings; use strict; use Apache::Constants qw(DECLINED); sub handler { my $r = shift; my $uri = $r->uri(); # ... shortened elsif ($uri =~ m|^/one/(\d+)/|) { $r->uri("/xyz/Handler.pm"); return DECLINED; } # ... shortened return DECLINED; } # handler

and the forwarding works; I just don't know how I can add the action=one and id=$1 to $r->args(). If I try

$r->uri("/xyz/Handler.pm?action=one;id=$1");
the following errormessage arises:
Filename is not valid: ...... Handler.pm?action=one;id=20

Do you know a way how I can set these parameters in the PerlTransHandler? I need more flexibility than mod_rewrite offers me. I've been searching the monastery, perl.apache.org and the web by google for about four hours by now and learned a lot, but still haven't found what I've been looking for

(I use Apache 1.3 with mod_perl 1, Perl5.8)

Best regards,
perl -e "s>>*F>e=>y)\*martinF)stronat)=>print,print v8.8.8.32.11.32"

    There is an example here.

      Thank you, that works perfectly!
