It might be useful to give us about five sentences about how it compares to Bricolage, since that seems to cover the exact same market and is likely a lot more mature. What problems does this solve that Bricolage doesn't, for example?

Also, does it use Yet Another Templating System, and if so, why?

    It uses HTML::Template, because that's what we use where Krang was built.
